SUMMARY OF PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION 2018-2021

Dear Sir or Madam,

On 31 August 2021 the project ’Support for Foreigners from Outside the European Union in Pomeranian Voivodeship over the years 2018 – 2020’ co-financed the National Programme of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund and the state budget ended. The project has been implemented from December 2018.

As a part the project, the support was implemented in the form of the following activities:

  1. Workshop and networking meetings for coalition members – activities were intended for representatives of the social welfare centres, the District Labour Offices and cooperating institutions e.g., the Police, the Board of Education and the representatives of schools, NGOs and other coalition members. A total of 4 meetings were held: in Gdańsk, Starogard Gdański, Tczew and Słupsk. Overall, 95 persons benefited from the activities. Provider: Sun & More.
  2. Organising of the seminar for coalition members – aimed at integration of professional circles, icluding: social workers, teachers, employees of Poviat Labour Offices, police officers, representatives of non-governmental organisations and other institutions. The subject of the seminar: ‘Integration of Foreign Children and Families – Good Practices’ and ‘Counteracting Human Trafficking and Slave Labour in the Context of Immigration of Foreigners – Possibilities of Providing Help”. A total number of on-line classes: 4. A total number of participants: 151 persons.
  3. Operating information and counselling points for foreigners – the points operated in Gdańsk, Gdynia, Słupsk, Kartuzy, Chojnice, Starogard Gdański within the period April 2019 – May 2021. Each point provided counselling and assistance on the issues related to a legalisation of stay, administrative and legal matters, employment rights, integration counselling and assistance, health, psychological and social care, child care and family reunification.

There was a total of 8000hrs. of specialist support. A number of persons supported: 1246.

  1. 4. Polish language courses for adults – were conducted at various levels (A1, A2, B1). The stationary classes were held in Tri-City, the others in the form of on-line classes. A total number of courses: 32, while a total number of participants amounted to 282 persons.

Provider: Accent School of Polish.

  1. Methodology courses of Polish as a foreign language for teachers working in Pomeranian Voivodeship. A total of 12 courses were held including 6 stationary and 6 on-line ones. A total number of participants: 186 persons.

Provider of on-line courses: Polish Language Academy and Polessa Polish Language Centre

  1. Adaptation courses – were held in the varied places in Pomeranian Voivodeship, both in the stationary and remote form. There were 24 courses in total, and a total number of persons who benefited from them: 255.

Provider: Immigrants Support Centre

  • 7., 8. and 10. Support for children in the schools in the form of Polish language classes, remedial classes and classes on Polish tradition, history and culture. Classes took place in eight schools in the stationary and remote forms. A total number of hours of support: Polish language classes 1200hrs., remedial classes 1200hrs., other 200hrs. Since the beginning of the project, 153 children have attended the Polish classes, 149 children have participated in the remedial classes and 76 children have attended other classes.

  1. Employing Ukrainian language assistants – in the selected schools teaching foreigners in Gdańsk. A total number of children covered by the support: 54.

Provider: Immigrants Support Centre

  1. Career counselling and certified translations – under this measure, foreigners could benefit from the support of specialists in information and counselling points and remotely. A total number of hours: 800hrs. In total, 219 persons benefited from the specialist support.

  1. Publication of a guide for foreigners and other activities of informational and promotional nature – an important supplement to the activities listed above was the publication of a guide for foreigners, leaflets and posters, as well as running the project website.
